Aravind Shankara Narayanan is an accomplished MS CS student at Georgia Tech with a specialty in computer graphics, deep learning, computer vision, and AR/VR. He has a strong background in programming languages such as Python, C++, Java, and C# and has worked with various tools and frameworks such as Unity Engine, PyTorch, Keras/TensorFlow, and Android Studio. With over 3.85 years of relevant experience, Aravind has worked as a software engineer at Samsung Research India - Bangalore for three years, where he gained expertise in deep learning, computer graphics, VR/AR, game development, and software engineering. He has also completed internships, research, and personal/group projects across different domains, including two filed patents. Aravind has a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT Madras and is expected to graduate with an MS in Computer Science from Georgia Tech in May 2023. He has also demonstrated exceptional leadership skills, serving as the Innovation Task Force coordinator for Gaming & Advanced Graphics at Samsung Research India - Bangalore, President of the Samsung Bangalore Toastmasters Club, and Founder of the IIT Madras Game Development Club. Currently, Aravind works as an Applied Scientist Intern at Amazon, where he built and demonstrated synthetic data pipelines for Amazon's Just Walk Out (JWO) pipelines, including 3D pose estimation and human body segmentation. His work involved using parametric human body models (SMPL), differentiable rasterization, inverse kinematics, and neural rendering fields (NeRFs). Aravind's past experiences include working as a Senior Software Engineer for Vision Research and Gaming & Advanced Graphics at Samsung, where he designed, developed, and deployed solutions for Samsung Electronics devices. His expertise includes hand gesture recognition on mobile devices, shadow rendering and animation engines for the AR Canvas app, automatic 3D model rig, and animation synthesis, image processing, and 3D geometry processing for 3D printing.
